It's not only inside the Giraffe Quarter that people meet. On 3 April, the car park outside will also be a gathering point for shoppers, when the Kvarteret's Bakluckeloppis will have its premiere. The activity is organised by Kvarteret Giraffen in collaboration with IFK Kalmar for the benefit of the club's activities for girls aged 6 and up.
- As the natural meeting place in the city, we see it as natural to make room for a good cause. With Kvarterets Bakluckeloppis, we want to do our bit to ensure that children and young people in Kalmar have meaningful leisure time. In addition, it feels good to support a sustainable initiative that ensures that toys, clothes and gadgets can be appreciated by someone else instead of being thrown away," says Jenny Eberhardsson, centre manager at Kvarteret Giraffen.
Kvarterets Bakluckeloppis will be held on the first Sunday of each month between April and September, and it is open to anyone who wants to clear out their garages, attics and basements to book a place as a seller on IFK Kalmar's website. The proceeds from the space rental go in full to the association.
- "We're happy to be working with Kvarteret Giraffen, as we both see the value in helping young girls to have fun together and develop through football. Therefore, we hope for a premiere with bright sunshine and that Kvarterets Bakluckeloppis will be a success from the start so that more people can experience the joy of being part of a team, says Bruno Karlström, Marketing Manager IFK Kalmar.
The Giraffe neighbourhood has previously held the Children's Flea Market and the Giraffe Flea Market, both of which were well-attended and appreciated activities. However, this is the first time the flea market takes place outdoors. To book a place at Kvarterets Bakluckeloppis, visit www.ifkkalmar.se.
